Who they are
Wild Alliance Africa works where the tar ends — the same places we travel.
Wild Alliance Africa is a conservation and community organisation working across the Maputaland coast, Zululand and the bushveld. Their work is unglamorous and constant: beach patrols before dawn, fence lines walked in summer heat, rangers paid on time, rural households employed to protect what is on their doorstep.
Halfway and this community back that work with money, kit and vehicles — and with travellers who know how to behave out there.

Every journey carries an offset
A conservation and community levy is built into each seat. You see the amount before you pay, and it is paid across in full.

At booking you can top up the offset. Section 18A tax certificates are issued for donations on request.

Kit and skills, not only cash
Halfway branches sponsor recovery gear, tyres, fuel and vehicle servicing for field teams working in remote areas.

Bhanga Nek turtle guardians
Night patrols with local monitors protect leatherback and loggerhead nests through the summer breeding season, and pay a living wage into the village that walks the beach.
Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Zululand rhino corridors
Fence repairs, tracking collars and ranger rations keep the corridors between reserves open so animals can move safely between protected land.
Limpopo and Mpumalanga
Bushveld water and waste
Borehole repairs, waste removal and clean-up days in the villages that host our convoys, so the places we travel through are better off for our visit.
